Pothole-ridden road, a bane for Falaknuma locals
Falaknuma: The road leading to Falaknuma Railway Station is completely damaged and pothole ridden and people are waiting for repair works by the authorities. Hundreds of people use this stretch to reach the railway station by walking or by vehicles from the main road every day. However, the road is so damaged that pedestrians also don’t find any place to walk gracefully up to the station.
The rain spoils the road further and water fills in the potholes of the road making the journey further miserable. Apart from this, the journey to the station by this road during night would be a nightmare since the stretch lack the street lights. Locals have complained about the issue to the authorities, but it was not hard pressed to take up the work. Most of the people who use this road are not the residents of the area but the general passengers.
A local leader P Rajender said that this was the responsibility of the civic authorities to take up the works since it affects a large number of people. He alleged that GHMC has failed to provide a good infrastructure to the citizens and the damaged road on the Falaknuma station was the example for their apathy. It is to be noted that adjacent to the road there is a Hindu crematorium and graveyard. People coming to the crematorium also suffer because of the shabby road.
