MLA assures residents not to worry about Foxsagar floods
Jeedimetla: Legislator Vivekanand on Wednesday assured the residents of Umamaheshwara Colony, an area prone to inundation, not to be worried about threat of facing Foxsagar floods. He alleged that the residents had become flood victims because of the negligent attitude of the previous governments. They were shaken for several months by rumours of demolition of their houses in view of floods.
The MLA held out the assurance that he would extend support after people of the colony represented their woes to him. They stated that the TDP government had allotted about 150 houses in the colony within Foxsagar FRL, some of which are still submerged. Some residents have built bunds in the colony to prevent water-logging.
Vivekanand promised to take the issue to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for finding a solution. He assured the residents that no demolition would be there that the rumours were being spread with the motive of defaming the TRS government. Among those who called on the MLA were MPP Sanna Kavita, Upa-sarpanch Ravi Yadav, Bollam Venu Madhav, many colony residents.
