Scribe family of four end life in suicide pact
Siddipet: In a tragic incident, a journalist family of four committed suicide due to financial problems in Siddipet district on Thursday. According to police, family head and a news reporter Hanumantha Rao (33) and his two daughters Deekshasri (6) and Shaineesri (4) and his wife Meena (29) died. Hanumantha Rao was working as a reporter covering Kondapaka mandal in Siddipet district for a Telugu daily while residing at Bharat Nagar Colony at Siddipet town.
For a few months, the scribe’s family was facing financial crisis and was unable to get out of the debts. Early in the morning on Thursday, the despondent Hanumatha Rao decided to end his family including his wife and their two daughters. In the morning, the neighbours broke open the doors of their house as there was no response from inside where Hanumantha Rao and his two children were found dead and his wife Meena who was rushed to the local hospital died while she was undergoing treatment.
The dead bodies were handed over to their relatives after autopsy. The police, who seized a suicide note from the spot and registered a case. Minister Harish Rao expressed his condolences to the journalist’s family. The Minister, who sent Rs 25,000 through the president of the district’s Journalists Union V Ranga Chary for the funerals of the deceased. The government will support the family of the deceased.
