Swimming pool costing `7 cr to come up in Lalapet
Secunderabad: A swimming pool with international standards is to be constructed at a cost of about Rs 7 crore near Prof Jayashankar Stadium in Lalapet to overcome the shortage being faced by the residents of Secunderabad. Minister for Sports T Padma Rao Goud reviewed the arrangements for the pool at a high-level meeting in his Secretariat chambers.
Officials concerned had already proposed a swimming pool at a cost of Rs 3.25 crore, but it was revised to Rs 7 crore to include international standards, besides a pool for children, a filter plant, other related centres, a gym, as suggested by the consultant. The minister directed his department officials to make arrangements soon for the new facility as there is no government swimming pool in the Secunderabad Assembly constituency. Corporator Alakunta Saraswati has thanked Goud for proposing the swimming pool in Lalapet.
