Hyderabad: A free-health camp was organised by Cantonment  Board Member J Maheswar Reddy in association with KS Multi-Specialty Hospital at a slum located in New-Bowenpally on Sunday. The event was attended by about three to four hundred slum dwellers. The organisers claimed that the event was first of its kind as the specialist doctors were brought to the slums to conduct medical checkups to the needy people at the free of cost.

The main aim of the health camp was to provide awareness to the people on diseases like diabetes, vitamins deficiency, and gynecology. The organisers were also provided medicine on being diagnosed with medical issues. Speaking on the occasion, J Maheswar Reddy said, “People should utilise such medical camps and take maximum benefit.  We choose this colony as many people were cannot afford taking treatment in corporate hospitals given the high price tags.”
