20 injured in two road accidents in Siddipet dist

Pregnapur: In a tragic incident, seven youth injured after their car in which they were travelling hit the median of the motorway after it was rammed by a truck from behind while in the process of overtaking at Pathuru village near Pregnapur on State Highway-1 in Gajwel Mandal in Siddipet district on Monday morning. 

All the seven occupants of the car received injuries while two another occupants were seriously injured who were rushed to Gandhi Hospital at Hyderabad after getting first aid treatment at RVM Hospital near Vantimamidi. The injured, all aged below 30, were returning Hyderabad from Mancherial by a rented car bearing number TS 31T 2613 after attending their friend's wedding at Mancherial. When they were crossing a turning at Syed Hashim Engineering College on the outskirts of Pregnaput village, an unknown truck hit their vehicle from behind while overtaking. By the impact of the clash, the car lost the control and hit the median of the State Highway. 

“The truck driver disappeared from the spot with the vehicle as we were stuck in the vehicle with injuries”, said one of the injured. The car was totally mangled in the mishap but claiming no casualties. The injured youth are said to be natives of Karimanagar district and the police are investigating the case. On 26 of last month, 14 persons died in a gory road accident involving several vehicles on the same stretch of the throughway near Preganpur which is notorious for frequent accidents.

In another similar accident at Cherial mandal headquarters, as many as 15 suffered minor injuries as DCM vehicle carrying 30 migrant labour tumbled down the road while crossing an oncoming auto. The injured were travelling to Nizamaba from Suryapet district for agriculture labour work. One of the injured was shifted to Siddipet Hospital for treatment. The incident occurred early in the morning as the driver was sleepy.
