Action sought against contractor in nala works
Malkajgiri: Nala works in Jyotinagar in Gowthamanagar division are going at a slow pace for the last one year. The contractor has allegedly not cared to take minimum safety measures. This became evident after a two-wheeler driver, Yadagiri Sathanna, sustained serious injuries after falling in the nala. Local residents rescued and shifted him to a hospital. They told The Hans India that if he had fallen on iron rods it would have been fatal. The residents criticised the contractor for failing to tie a cord or put up a no-entry board at the spot.
A resident, Srinivas, contended that the contractor was challenging the government by ignoring safety guidelines, while accusing officials of extending their support to the contractor. He demanded action by corporator Sirisha Jitender Reddy against the contractor for negligence.
