Ration dealers in Sangareddy warned against going on strike
Sangareddy: Collector V Venkateshwrlu warned the ration dealers in the district of removal from their job if they resort to go on strike from July 1, here on Tuesday.
Joint Collector Nikhila held a meeting with the representatives of the Ration Dealers Welfare Associations and Public Distribution System (PDS) in the district and sought the dealers’ co-operation not to create hurdles to the PDS by going for a strike as they had already announced the notice demanding for the increment of their salaries and commissions and release of pending payments from the government.
The JC said the government was concerning their demands and urged the dealers associations to continue the distribution as usual without any obstacles for the sake of poor people in the district and in the state as well from July 1. District president of Dealers’ Welfare Association Ananthaiah said their matter was in the purview of state level and hoped for the solution for their problems from the government soon.
The Collectorate stated that there was a responsibility on the ration dealers to implement the PDS properly. All the ration dealers in the district should deposit DDs at mee-seva centres to get the Release Order and cooperate with the government.
Otherwise the government has the right to expel the dealers who are failed to do their job according to PDS Order 2016 for the interest of the public. There should not be any inconvenience to the regular public distribution system and the government has already made the alternative arrangements for the ration distribution if the dealers go on strike from July 1 which is completely unlawful and urged the people of the district not worry about the PDS from next month.
