Public drunkenness a nuisance in Vikarabad
Vikarabad: The drunkards often become trouble makers and even frightening for the decent and peace-loving people of the town. Groups of people are commonly seen at wine shops, making nuisance day and night. As many as seven wine shops and three bars are actively serving the guzzlers.
All of these are seen with heavy rush all the time. The permit rooms which are attached to the wine shops are also equally serving the beverages to the consumers. After having drunk for some time, they drive motor cycles and cars, which attracts severe penalty from the authorities. Moreover, it is a life risk for both riders and others. Some people consume more than they can bear, and these are seen falling on roads or bus shelters. During night, the speeding vehicles might crush the unconscious people, who are lying on roads. Several incidents of accidents are reported because of the negligent attitude of the drunkards. They do not have a sense that their dear ones are waiting for him.
Women leaders of the town criticised the state government for allowing more wine shops and bars. They say that government should also think about the families, which are being ruined due to alcoholism. Some women say that they are feeling shy because of their men are seen in unwanted situations. Not just income, health of the people should also be given top priority, they suggest the government.
