TDP stages dharna at GHMC office
Bashirbagh: Activists of the city TDP staged a dharna against its failure to maintain hygiene during the monsoon at GHMC office here on Wednesday. TDP city unit president Srinivas Rao alleged that no traces of sanitation being taken up have been found. He said that after cleaning nalas the silt and garbage have been left at the spots giving scope for spread of contagious diseases during rain.
Rao urged the civic body to give up its negligent and lethargic attitude, while accusing the government of only indulging in talk of converting city into Dallas, Singapore by building skyways and highways. He said the Municipal Administration department ‘miserably’ failed to provide minimum facilities to people and that development works have been stalled during the last four years. This, he stated, was causing hardship to the citizens.
Later, the party leaders submitted a memorandum to the GHMC commissioner. Among the participants were Kuna Venkatesh Goud, Saibaba, Ramesh Bajrang Sarma, Badrinath Yadav, Shakila Reddy.
