Unlicensed gold units in Secunderabad raided; Rs 60 lakh and 56 kg silver seized

Secunderabad:  North Zone police on Wednesday raided on unlicensed gold jewellery making units in Monda Market area and seized unaccounted for cash Rs 60 lakh, 56 kg of silver and 560 liters of nitric acid and cynade.

According to DCP Sumati, cases were also booked against the illegal units on the charge of purchasing gold illegally. The shops did not have trade license as well as pollution control board approval.  Quoting investigation reports, she said that some criminals are hand-in-glove with the owners of the units selling stolen gold to them.
