AGHMC Commissioner orders removal of debris within 24 hours

 Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy directed the concerned zonal commissioners to ensure that the debris was lifted within 24 hours after the conduct of the special drive against encroachments and the concerned agency (GHMC, HRDC, HMRL) to start the renovation work within two days.

The concerned Dy Commissioner and Asst City Planner are to create awareness about the footpath encroachment campaign before the drive was commences so that the people can voluntarily remove the encroachments well in advance.  The enforcement wing must take necessary steps for marking the encroachments in the given stretch before the conduct of drive, he said.

The zonal commissioners must prepare an action plan for footpath encroachments well in advance. The footpath designs should be standardised. The Enforcement wing must prepare the list of repeated offenders to initiative action against them.  The officials must take the encroachment in by lanes also and link the encroachments to the trade license provisions to initiate action against the offenders for cancelling the trade licenses. The Fire Safety Wing was asked to monitor fire safety measures including exit and rescue operations at bars, pubs, educational institutions and restaurants.
