VNCC- The Right Choice for Bright Career

Commerce education plays a very important role in the changing business world. The pace of globalization, liberalization and privatization has tremendously influenced the various dimensions. There are many colleges which offer commerce education. But the way it is imparted at Vijayanagar College of Commerce, founded by Vijayanagar Vidya Samithi in the year 1973, is praise worthy.

According to Baddam Bal Reddy, the Chairman of the college, VNCC is not just an educational institution but it is a commitment. A commitment to hone the latent talents of the students especially the poorest of the poor. Further he says the college has the history of transforming an ordinary student into an extra ordinary ones.

According to P Srinivas Reddy, the correspondent of the college, over the years the educational activities expanded into different areas covering information technology, economics, commerce, cost accountancy, music and dance. The college has been adapting new philosophies to meet the changed environment. VNCC has made students job ready even before they are graduated. The number of books co-authored are around 40, and the staff together has more than 100 publications to their credit. College has well-equipped lab, library and handles different activities like NCC, NSS, Faculty Orientation Programs.

The alumni of the college are occupying top positions in Government and Non-Government organizations. There are chartered Accountants, Cost and Management Accountants, Company Secretaries and Software specialists too in the list of old students which was formed in 2016. The college offers B.Com (General) and B.Com (Computers). The NSS wing has 150 enrollments and the NCC department has more than 200 enrollments.

Dr KV Ramana Murthy (M Com, M Phil PhD) has a vast teaching experience of 29 years at various levels guided 5 M Phils and presented about 40 research papers, got 75 publications in various International and National Seminars and conferences journals, newspapers and magazines. He received the State Best Teacher Award from the Govt. of Telangana in 2016 and Bharath Jyothi Award in 2017. He also has an Editor of Shudh Drishti, an International Peer Reviewed Journal and gave extension lectures on different subjects which were about 100. 

He presented about 30 lessons live on Mana TV and co-authored 30 books. The Principal said, "It may be small college, but it is akin to Sri Ramji's Parnashala. The college focuses on application oriented and meaningful learning and not rote learning". This year, 2018, 85% of the students secured 1st dvision and efforts are to introduce B Com (Computer Applications) from the next academic year. There are about 40 students who have participated in Sports and Games at State and National levels.
