Madhapur: Hyderabad the fastest growing metro in adopting Swacch initiatives like cleanliness, women safety, plastic ban etc. is adding one more feather to its cap, the first ‘hanging garden’ in city at Durgamchervu Lake. It is making quite a buzz in the city and the development is on with the much fanfare. But the ongoing work is causing inconvenience for the commuters who often use these ways.

The hanging garden cable suspension is being constructed from the main entrance of Ambedkar Open University at Jubille Hills road no 45 to the junction near to Inorbit mall. Currently, all the foundations and substructure works have been completed and superstructure works are being executed at a full pace. After its completion, it would cut the distance between Jubilee hills and Madhapur and would make the distinction of being Hyderabad’s first ‘hanging Bridge’ with aesthetic lighting and destined to be a major recreational point and tourist attraction for the city.

Keeping in view of the ‘Make in India’ campaign, the bridge is being purely designed and constructed under Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode by L&T. Though the cable suspension at Durgamchervu Lake is going to help the commuters soon, but presently they are irked with the traffic jams they have to face every day. Traffic police at Madhapur said, “The traffic coming from Ayyapa society will not be allowed at COD crossroads and will have to go via Cyber Towers and take left turn towards Inorbit Mall.” For which every commuter who uses the Ayyapa society road should either start early or have to wait for the traffic to get easier, he adds.

Rajeev, an IT employee at Microsoft, said, “Since the road is shared at west side of the city, most of the IT employees find it difficult to cross from Jubilee Hills road to Madhapur.” especially people at Ayyapa society, as the lake work is on and commuters have no clue up to when will the work be finished and until when the employees have to face this situation, he adds.
