Swachh Autos to play waste segregation jingle

Update: 2018-07-11 05:30 IST

Hyderabad: Segregation of waste at source is a very crucial and important step for efficient Solid Waste Management.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) under the initiative of ‘Swacch Telangana’ distributed two dustbins earlier, to around 22 lakh households in the city which aimed at promoting waste segregation (into dry and wet waste) under GHMC limits.

Though the GHMC is taking several measures to promote waste segregation, there are still some loopholes that need immediate addressing.

To take forward the idea of waste segregation at source, GHMC is planning to propagate the sense of responsibility in citizens towards waste segregation by playing jingles in Swachh Auto Tippers (SATs) while collecting the garbage from households across GHMC.

As part of this all the Swachh Auto Tippers in the city would play the jingle while they visit the households to collect waste.

The jingle addresses to the owner of the house to separate the waste in to wet & dry, before giving it to the Swachh Auto.
