KTR to inaugurate Gitanagar reservoir soon
Malkajgiri: Water shortage problems of the residents of Moulali division will end soon with the completion of Gitanagar overhead tank work at a cost of Rs 3 crore. It is set for inauguration soon by Minister K T Rama Rao.
The 1,450-litre capacity reservoir, which is part of the World Bank-funded Rs 338.5 crore Malkajgiri dirking water project, will provide a permanent solution to water shortage of 25 colonies, including those in Moulali and Vinayaknagar divisions, and localities in the hill area. Some residents of these colonies while speaking to The Hans India expressed happiness over this development. Moulali Corporator Mumtaz Fatima told THI that the reservoir would end the water woes of the residents.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has fulfilled the assurance given to the people, after the TRS government realised their water supply problems. Sridhar Reddy, GM of HMWSSB, said the reservoir would benefit about 3 lakh people. He stated that pending inauguration of the reservoir water would be supplied to residents by tankers. Reddy assured that applications of all those who sought Rs.1 tap connections were being immediately cleared.
