RRS engg college students stage protest for resuming classes
Patancheru: The students of RRS College of Engineering and Technology at Muthangi in Patancheru mandal in Sangareddy district staged a protest by blocking the National Highway-65 near the college on Wednesday demanding immediate resume of their academic classes. The management of the private engineering college had not been conducting the classes for the students and locked up the college building last week due to alleged financial crisis since last year.
The students alleged that the faculty of the college was not paid their salaries for 8 months leading to absence of the classes. Studetns’ unions like TNSF also expressed its support to the agitated students and demanded the management to come out and resolve the issue. Students demanded that the management of the college is still at large and should come to the college to pay the due salaries of the staffers to continue the classes.
“We have been pushed out of the college in mid-year with backlogs. We are worried about our future”, said the protesting diploma students studying third and second year of engineering. Police reached the spot and managed to the clear the motorway. Meanwhile, some of the students tried to stage protest at the collectorate to file a complaint about the issue. The students and their parents stated that there were not aware of the principal and the whereabouts of the management of the college. Most of the students joined the college in management quota by paying huge amounts of money.
