Shastripuram to undergo major overhaul

Shastripuram: Following sanction of Rs 5.63 crore rupees by GHMC, the Shastripuram opposite SPV National Police Academy will be going a major overhaul in the coming days. The developmental works include upgrading drainage system, BT road works, patch work which are going to be started shortly, which will cover about 10 colonies within the Shastripuram. 

“Following inauguration of the civic works recently a major outlet drain coming from Kings colony and Rashid colony will be connected to Box Drain pipe near Mir Alam tank for the sanctioned amount of Rs 1.8 crore. Some other works, which were pending due to issue related to contractor been started last month and the work will be completed in more three  months,” said Md Misbahuddin Shastripuram area Corporator. According to the Corporator, several major works have been completed and many more to be started as in some of colonies in area, where they does not have a proper drainge system. These works will be completed by this year end. 

N Prashant Assistant Engineer (ward 58) said that the works of BT Road and Drain system has been completed recently in some of the colonies. Some works were pending in 10 more colonies, following sanction of the amount and the tender has also been called inviting contract and works will be started shortly. “The major work of the BT Road in Mohammedia Colony a road passing near Railway track to Vattepally will also start soon as Rs 1.20 crore has been sanctioned. In Shastripuram colony a 2 feet water pipe line work has been started last week will be completed in 5 more days,” said the AE.
