Traffic cops render social service, win hearts
LB Nagar: When the need comes one should not shy away from doing public service even though if it does not fall in one’s work domain. Additional Inspector (Traffic) A Nagamallu along with his staff on Thursday set an example of community service to all the govt employees. The incessant rains had caused potholes and sewage water overflow on the roads at the LB Nagar Ring Road. Not only the potholes posed threat to commuters, but it caused severe traffic jams.
Instead of filing complaints and waiting for the municipal staff to conduct repair works, Nagamallu and his staff took up on themselves to fill up the potholes and clear the silt to stop the overflow of sewage water on to the roads. The brave heart traffic inspector and his staff in their uniforms were seen carrying gravel and mud to fill up the potholes providing temporary relief to vehicular traffic. The move of the traffic police was appreciated by the locals and instilled a sense of ownership over the civic issues. If everyone contributes in a small way for community service, we will live in a different society altogether.
