12 youth to kick off 2,600-km Bullet ride today
Hyderabad: With an aim to spread ‘patriotism’, a group of 12 city youth is embarking on a bold venture of going on a yatra as part of the ‘Kargil Vijay Divas’. The yatra on 14 Bullet motorcycles is going to be launched on Saturday from Sanjivayya Park for the event to be held in New Delhi on 25 and 26. The youngsters, led by Gundamalla Praveen Kumar Goud of Premnagar in Amberpet, are going on the trip using their savings. The Kargil Divas is celebrated every year to mark the martyrdom of our brave jawans in 1999 during the Pakistani army’s occupation of Kargil. The youth will salute the second largest national tri-colour at the park before commencing the 2,600-km yatra.
Those undertaking the venture include Pavan Kumar Goud, Rahul Niti, Karthik, Sagar Sadanand, Bandi Karthik, Rajkumar, Anvesh, Tanish, Chandra, Hemanth, Srinivas. Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreya and BJP floor leader in the Assembly G Kishan Reddy will flag off the yatra on Sunday at 10 am. The youth will travel to Delhi via Nagpur, Itarsi, Jhansi, Gwalior, Bhopal and Agra. They will pay homage to the brave jawans and travel further via Chandigarh, Kulumanali, Leh to reach Kargil on July 25, to take part in the Vijay Divas there.
The youngsters will hand over thanks-giving cards and mementos to the Army Majors. They will leave Kargil on the evening of July 26 for Srinagar, Jammu to reach Amritsar to take part in the daily march there. The youth will return to Hyderabad via Delhi on August 3.
