Nala expansion works pending for four months

Serilingampally: The nala expansion works taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) circle staff to overcome the problem of overflowing drainage in Ramki Towers, Gas Godown and Gachibowli fluover areas of P J R Nagar four months back are still to be completed.

Residents of these areas are facing severe hardship in transportation as the roads have been dug up pending completion of the work, because of the lethargic officials and negligence of the contractor. They are forced to take a detour via a closed road to reach their destinations. With regular rain the spots are water-logged with accumulation of drainage. This is resulting in emission of foul smell.

Local residents while expressing their agony to The Hans India have appealed to officials to speed up the work. Mamata, GHMC Serilingampally DC, told THI that the work would be completed soon, while admitting that there has been a delay. She attributed the pendency to the road works in a local colony. The DC stated that already a review meeting on the pending work has been held with the Engineering department officials and those they have been ordered to complete it soon.
