Rakshapuram area gets upgraded drainage system
Chandrayangutta: Following sanction of Rs 2.20 crore by the GHMC, the Rakshapuram area in Chandrayangutta constituency is getting a makeover from upgrading of drainage mechanism in the locality to laying o f CC roads.
Speaking to The Hans India, the Riyasathnagar area dorporator Mirza Mustafa Baig said that the GHMC had taken up upgrading of drain work in Jamal colony in Rakshapurum area opposite to DRDL from drain covered with granite (about 25-year-old) to box drain. Following sanction of money of Rs 26 lakh the work has picked up pace near Riyasathnagar Market, where another drainage line is coming up. The works of laying of CC road will also be complete in the meantime,” he said.
D Kistappa, Executive Engineer, said that the drain which is coming from DRDL and passing through Rakshapuram area was being replaced to box drain instead of covered drain system. The official said that three to four portions of the works were completed, while the last remaining portion would be completed shortly. “A drain work in Riyasathnagar market which is of more than a km will be completed in the coming days along with laying of CC roads, which was pending due to rain,” said the official. To modernize Rakshapuram area, a Model Market will be coming up shortly with G+1 building, where 16 shops with different sizes will cater to the needs of locals.
The Corporator said that with a sanction amount of Rs 67 lakhs building has been constructed and all shops has been allotted and only minor work related to parking space was pending. “Once the space is available for parking, small hawkers and businessmen in market will cater to the needs of the local populace with all types of daily use items including kirana items, vegetables, meat and other products under one location,” said Mirza.
He also said that the new substation has been installed with a capacity of 33/11 KV. “ New power transformers, underground cabling, new distribution transformer, roof top solar panels etc in Arundathi Colony with the estimate cost of Rs 3.5 Crore which is completed in a year and a Inauguration will done in coming days,” he added.
