Jewellery shop robbery case: Patancheru police recover booty of 1 Kg gold, silver

Patancheru: Addressing the media here on Thursday the Patancheru police said that the booty, heisted by Odisha couple at the Jai Bhavani Jewellery shop at Ameenpur in Sangareddy district on night of July 3, was recovered from the culprits. The police seized 1kg and 700 grams of Gold, 187gm silver including a two-wheeler Honda Aviator used by the robbers and other important articles from their rented house at Modi Golden Apartments villa at Ameenpur. 

The couple Sunil Mahota and Sunitha Mahota, both 36-year-old, who is under judicial custody, was traced and nabbed near Calcutta in West Bengal three days ago with the help SOT police of Cyberabad Zone. The owner of the shop Jayram  was also injured before chilli powder was sprinkled in his eyes while attempting to thwart the heist by the robbers.
