Sangareddy:  Major Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the tardy progress in the Mission Bhagiradha (MB) works in Narayanakhed Assembly constituency and asked officials to step up the momentum.

Reviewing the progress, he was unhappy at completion of only 21 storage tanks out of the total 345. Officials were told to build 76 in August, 95 in September and the rest in October. He wanted the MLA Bhupal Reddy to review the progress thrice in a week. When officials told him that 45 out of 117 storage tanks were through,  he told them to complete another 50 in August.

He wanted the officials to give 28,000 household tap connections in two months, including 16,000 in August. He insisted that Manjira water to be supplied to all 181 villages in Zaheerabad constituency by July 31. MP Kotta Prabhakar Reddy, MLAs Bhupal Reddy, Chinta Prabhakar, Babu Mohan, MLC Fariduddin, District Collector Venkateswarlu and others took part.
