Call for stir against attacks on Dalits, farmer suicides
Musheerabad: Speakers at a state-level convention organised by CITU, AIKSU, AIADU in Sundarayya Vignana Kendram on Wednesday called for a large-scale agitation to protest the increasing attacks on dalits in the last four years and suicides due to lack of remunerative prices to farmers. They appealed for making the ‘Chalo Delhi’ rally on September 5, demanding minimum wages, remunerative prices, financial independence ensuring land and employment, successful.
The speakers including AIKSU state general secretary P Sagar, CITU’s Chukka Ramulu, AIAWU national general secretary A Vijayaraghavan, CITU state secretary M Saibaba accused the two Telugu States of backing the policies of the Naredra Modi government and the centre of trying to undermine the MGNREGS and waiving loans of those who avoided repayment of credit to banks. They accused the government of failing to implement loan waiver for farmers.
