Streetlights on 24/7 Enlightened GHMC switches off streetlights manually

Rahmatnagar: Following the continuous drive against the streetlights being on 24/7 by regularly reporting on the issue in the pages of The Hans India – tabloid Citylife, the GHMC, it seems has finally awakened. Instead of waiting to repair the (CCMS) Centralised Contact Management System boxes from where around 25,000 streetlights can be managed, the official decided to switch off the streetlight manually. 

Following the report ‘Streetlights are on 24/7 due to technical glitch: GHMC’ on July 25, the GHMC zonal coordinator responded on Wednesday. The GHMC official contacted The Hans India reporter and informed that streetlights in Rahmatnagar and Film Nagar have been repaired manually. The official informed that the streetlights in  Rahmatnagar were turned off on Sunday and in Film Nagar on Tuesday.
