Lake police rescues two from committing suicide

Tank Bund: Lake Police rescued two persons in two separate incidents from committing suicide in Hussain Sagar Lake water between on Friday and Saturday. On Thursday at about 1:30 am the police saved a 59-year-old woman, a resident of Domalguda, who tried to jump into water near Ambedkar statue bus stop and brought her to Lake PS. On enquiry it was revealed that she was married and a mother of four children. 

She got habituated to toddy since few years and her husband and children asked her many times to stop having it, but she never listened to them and started consuming daily. As usually on Thursday in the evening hours she went home in a drunken condition, by noticing victim in that condition her husband scolded badly. Due to which she went into depression and decided to end her life. The police counselled her promptly and sent her to Bharosa for further counselling.

And on Friday at about 2:30 am the police saved a 29-year-old farmer from Karimnagar, who tried to jump into water near pooja stall and brought him to Lake PS. On enquiry it came to know that he is a married person and blessed with two children. Yesterday in the afternoon hours he quarrelled with his wife and mother in a petty family issue and left his house and came to his cousin’s house near Secunderabad for relaxation and suggestion, but unable to share his problem he went into depression and decided to end his life by jumping into water. Police personnel Fazal Ahmed Khan, M Anwar Hussain, K Mallesh, NM Kumar were part of the rescue team, informed inspector B Dhana Laxmi.
