Residents hold meetings at Anganwadis
Nacharam: With the delay in completing the construction works of around three community halls in and around Nacharam, the locals have been holding monthly meetings and special events at the Anganwadi centres. Meanwhile, a community hall at Shreyaguda crumbled down causing inconvenience to the locals. For a year now, the works were kept pending due to lack of funds.
“It’s been a year the works came to halt with no sufficient funds to finish the project. However, two days ago the construction works of the community hall at Bhavani Nagar began with the allocated funds to the tune of Rs 10 lakh for each community hall,” said local corporator, Shanthi Saizen Shekar, the works were expected to be completed in two months.
The other community halls located at Ellakkala Basti, Singam Cheruvu needed a makeover. “Because of the delay in construction of the community hall we are facing problems to conduct meeting and forced to utilize Anganwadi centers for it. The officials should ensure that community halls are constructed with all facilities which allow us to conduct smooth meetings and special programmes,” said Rammulamma, a resident of Nacharam.
