TRS gaining upper hand in Tandur Assembly constituency
Tandur: The TRS is slowly gaining upper hand in Tandur Assembly constituency relegating the Congress, which is afflicted with groupism, to the backward, if the recent failure of the no-confidence motion moved against the Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP) president Lakshmamma was any indication.
To wrest the MPP post from the TRS, a splinter group of the TRS joined the hands with the Congress and moved a no-confidence motion against the MPP president Lakshmamma on June 26 duly serving a notice to the RDO Venu Madhav. But those who are supporting the motion did not turn up within the stipulated time at the House forcing the officials to declare that the motion was failed to carry through.
There was a slip between the lip and the cup on account of the sheer negligence on the part of the Congress leadership, it is alleged. In the case of Peddemul MPP president post, the Congress has full majority in the house to stake claim for the post, but the party riven with groupism was disappointed in grabbing power. The groupism in the party is attributed to absence of strong leadership giving definite direction to the party. Congress rank and file are expressing anguish over the party lagging behind giving clear edge to the TRS as Congress leaders are busy clashing with each other.
