Students left in the lurch as HC orders school to vacate
Tolichowki: Following the verdict of High Court, a school a running in a building was vacated at Bridnavan Colony of Tolichowki recently.
Neo Holy Fathima school management was accused of land occupation, the property owner MD Fazlur Rahman approached High Court and the case was pending for ten years.
Thereafter, the verdict was made in favour of Rahman following which the school was asked to vacate. On Wednesday the area police vacated the building by removing school furniture.
J Satish, sub inspector of police said “We vacated the building as per court orders as MS Farooq, responsible for occupying the building. While the land owner Rahman was waiting for the judgment of High court.”
“There are about 300 students in the school, who are abandoned by the school. We are not sure what would happen to students,” said, a neighbour to the school Mohammed Iqbal.
“The building is now being turned into an apartment” said contract worker, Mohammed. “School management declared a holiday, and informed that parents that they would arrange an alternative,” said a store owner next to school.
Right to Education activist (RTE), from Tolichowki said “There are no other branches of the school nearby now the fate of students is left to themselves.”
