Special status contemplated to Narayankhed

Narayankhed:  Dr Sanjeeva Reddy, TPCC member, on Thursday will submit a memorandum to revenue divisional officer here seeking special status to Narayanakhed and other places on the lines of the special status accord to backward places in Karnataka – Bidar, yadgeer, Raichur, Bellary and Gulbarga – under the 98th constitutional amendment creating a new Article 371J. He also sought special status to Gadwal, Kodangal, Alampur, Vikarabad, Tandur, Zaheerabad which registered no progress even four years after statehood to Telangana. 

The Center has been extending special financial support to the erstwhile Nizam ruled areas in Karnataka state. Similar, package has been urged to Narayanakhed and other backward areas in Telangana. Congress activists have been asked to congregate at Dr Sanjeeva Reddy’s house on Thursday to proceed in a rally to RDO office and submit the official memorandum.
