20 Musheerabad temples bracing up for August 5 Bonalu

Musheerabad: Development works costing Rs 33.87 lakh are being taken up by the engineering wing in 20 temples and their surrounding areas across Musheerabad constituency by officials of GHMC circle 15 for the Bonalu festival to be held on August 5. The works include colouring, laying of footpaths, roads, tiles, flooring, road repairs.

Officials are making elaborate efforts for the festival in view of the importance being given by the TRS government to the celebrations during the last four years. They are implementing plans to ensure that works by the concerned GHMC wing are completed by contractors before August 5. With the release of the required funds, the officials were busy filling the potholes on roads and carrying out other works. Circle Deputy Commissioner B Krishna Shekar held discussions with the engineering and sanitation staff to ensure that there were no problems before the festival. Police officials were also making all arrangements for the benefit of the devotees. 

Meanwhile, funds have been allocated to various temples to celebrate the festival. An amount of Rs.1.95 lakh is to be spent for providing items in Pochamma temples in Mamtanagar and in Musheerabad (Bholakpur division), Mahankali temples in Ranganagar and Indiranagar (Kavadiguda). An amount of Rs 7.3 lakh is to be incurred in building a temporary shed at Kattamaisamma temple at Tankbund. An amount of Rs 8.6 lakh is to be spent on Nallapochamma temples in Kota, Tallabasti, Dhobighat. Whitewashing and painting works are to be done in Eedamma temples at a cost of Rs.1.4 lakh in Babujinagar, Kamalanagar, Nehrunagar, Mohannagar. 

An amount of Rs.7.72 lakh is to be incurred for the festival in Arundhatinagar, Sabarmatinagar, Viveknagar, Gandhinagar of Gandhinagar division. Basic facilities and other arrangements are to be made in Ramalayam and Pochamma temples (Adikmet division) at a cost of Rs.2.2 lakh in Lalithanagar, Azamabad, Medibavibast, Anjayyanagar,  Nagamayyakunta, Ramnagar. Festival arrangements are being made at a cost of Rs 2.7 lakh in Bangarumaisamma and Nallapochamma temples at Bagh Lingampally Bridge, EW Quarters, Chakali Ilamma Bhavan, in Gemini Colony.
