Nampally: With the objective of extending services attendants of the intending Hajis, particularly those who come from far-off districts, for the first time the Haj Committee Chairman, Md Masiullah Khan has ‘voluntarily’ extended services like accommodation in a nearby function hall. The services include basic amenities during their stay before their kin embark on plane to Saudi Arabia.

Each year thousands of intending Hajis and their attendants arrive from various districts in Telangana, AP, also from some districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra. While the pilgrims are provided accommodation in the Haj House, their attendants mostly their kin have to make arrangements outside Haj House. While some stay in their relatives houses, most of them are forced to stay in hotels and lodges.

However, this time Md Masiullah Khan voluntarily has decided to help them out by offering free-accommodation service in nearby Majestic Function Hall by spending through his pocket. “We have booked the entire two-storey building for 16 days and are providing arrangements on par with a hotel with separate sections for men and women. During the past 6 days more than 2000 people have already got benefitted,” he said.

In addition to accommodation facilities, the Chairman has also extended service like Free Wi-fi in Haj camp through his own expenses. He also requested the traffic police to provide some relief who park their vehicles near Haj House during the period. By providing voluntary services, Masiullah feels that those who get benefitted would pray for him. “I hope to please almighty and to get blessings from Hajis and their attendants during their short stay here,” adds the Chairman.

While expressing gratitude, Md Murtuza from Nizamabad said that if there was no arrangement for accommodation, he would have faced hardships during the stay. “I prefer to stay here as it is much assessable to the Haj house and whenever there is need I can reach out to the camp within couple of minutes and without any hassle,” he said.

This year the quota for Haj pilgrims has been increased, but the maintenance of the Haj camp remains intact and clean with all the support of volunteers, police, traffic police and other officials. Md Majid Ali, a volunteer said that the maintenance of the Haj camp is so tough as scores of people come to see off the Haj pilgrims. But this year’s maintenance of camp Haj Committee is perfect as even Masiullah chairman and SA Shukoor special officer continues to inspect the campus many times during the day. "This is perhaps the first Chairman who can be seen taking a ride on two-wheeler to ensure everything remains hitch-free,” he added.
