Farmers rally demands Trident sugar factory management to clear dues

Zaheerabad:  Over 2,000 farmers, led by Congress leader M Jaipal Reddy, on Tuesday took out a rally demanding payment of dues by the Trident sugar factory at Kottur to the cane growers.

Over 2,000 farmers belonging to Jharasangam, Koheer, Nyalkal and Zaheerabad took part in the protest rally.Prior to the rally, Jaipal Reddy garlanded the Dr BR Ambedkar statue in Zaheerabad. 

The rallyists marched 15 km to reach the sugar factor at Kotturu and staged a sit-in in front of the factory in support of their demands.

They had a tough time meeting tuition fee requirements of their children and financing agriculture on account of their funds being held up with the factory, they said demanding immediate payment of dues by the factory management.

Nayalakal ZPTC Sarada Bhaskar Reddy, Zaheerabad Youth Congress leaders and others took part in the programme.
