No booking for sightseeing trips in Telangana since May
Hyderabad: The recently launched new package- Temple Tour that provides tourists a chance to visit 11 tourist spots in single trip with proper accommodation has failed to catch the imagination of people. Soon after the temple tour was launched, it did receive good response but later faded out. “After the new package was launched, in the month of April close to 120 members availed the Telangana Tourism buses and around 70 members in the month of May. Since then there have been no bookings,” said Mahesh, central reservation manager.
In a shocking revelation, not a single booking was made from the month of June to August. “After the bifurcation, compared to Andhra Pradesh tourism there is slump in the people visiting tourist spots in Telangana. Here people do not show much interest to visit these places and because of all tourist spots are within 300km radius most people prefer to travel in their own vehicles or hire a private vehicle,” he said, as many as people are availing these buses to visit Tirupati, Shirdi and Srisailam. The demand is more to visit places outside Telangana.
People in Telangana are however warming up to the idea of visiting Bogatha waterfalls at Bupalpally. Facilities are yet to be developed at the site but it has a huge potential say officials. Presently, people are going to it in their own vehicles.
