Paid services at temples in Sangareddy district suspended
Zaheerabad: Priests associations representatives on Wednesday declared that all paid services in temples across Sangareddy district will remain paralysed from Thursday as part of a stir of the priests seeking wage parity.
Association leaders M Basayya Swamy, Srikant Swamy, Jagadishwar Swamy, speaking to The Hans India, said quoting a GO issued on September 17 last year that the order directed authorities to pay wages to 5625 employees on a par with government employees. The orders specify the wage parity shouldbe implemented with effect from November. So far, the orders remain unimplemented. For the past four days the priests have been observing black badge demonstrations. To protest against the dictatorial style of functioning of the endowments department officials, the paid services will remain suspended from Thursday.
