GHMC officials swing into action; demolish illegal construction
Gopanapally: In the response to the article published in The Hans India on August 8th the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials in immediate response have removed idol from the park which belongs to GHMC was encroached by the locals. The issue was first reported by The Hans India.
The GHMC Park at Gopanapally, Chandnagar in the survey numbers 209(P), 212, 213, 232, 233, 235(P) 236, 237, 239 and 240 of Diamond Heights where some of the locals were constructing illegal structures without any legal permission. First they prepared a small tent and then in few months they constructed a room and placed an idol. Locals started performing puja, this clearly shows that in the name of temple they want to grab the GHMC land.
Earlier, officials warned locals not to develop any kind of structure and given one week of time to remove the illegal structures but local ignored the warnings of authorities. By reacting to the article published in The Hans India, GHMC demolition wing along with police removed the idol on Thursday.
GHMC Deputy Commissioner V Mamatha said that the GHMC Park would be cleaned and saplings would be planted in it. And soon the park will be going to open to the public and it will be maintained by appointing some workers in GHMC Park, she added.
