Police zeroing in on the accused in murder case
Hyderabad: The Marriguda police are now closing in on the culprit who eloped with a girl from Gali Masjid in LB Nagar here nine years ago and killed her. Charmed by the glib-tongued neighbour, More Hanumanthu, a cab driver, Priya of Mandra village in Narkatpalli mandal of Nalgonda district eloped with him and bore two children with him.
Priya accompanied her carpenter younger brother – Upendrachari – along with deaf and dumb mother and physically challenged brother had come to Hyderabad in search of work. After she eloped, Priya resurfaced in L B Nagar after three years and her brother who was close to her reconciled and accepted her, but soon she again disappeared and was never to be seen. Her brother who did not hear from her tried searching and tried his luck on Facebook. He succeeded in tracing her address and whereabouts. He got the cab number and mobile number of Hanumanthu posing as a customer who wanted to hire a cab to Srisailam.
Upendra, who went to the village to meet his sister, was flabbergasted to find out that Hanumanthu married another woman. Enquiries revealed that he had killed Priya disposing of her body in a well and married a girl from Karnataka. The cab driver sold his son to an acquaintance in Kondamallepalli, while the daughter was disposed of in Hyderabad. The police have sent search party to Mallepalli cross roads and to Hyderabad to bring the children. Under the supervision of Marriguda Tahsildar Lal Bahadur Sastri, pachnama on Priya’s body was going on.
R Prabhakar Reddy, inspector of police, Marriguda says, “A complaint has been registered and an inquiry is underway. We have lot of clues that point towards the crime. We would be nabbing him soon.” A special team is heading for Erikottapalli village, where the accused has been traced and we are on the lookout for the girl.”
