Haritha Haram: 7-day special drive on anvil to nurse saplings
Gajwel: District Collector P Venkatram Reddy has called upon officials to draw up an action plan and launch a special drive to ensure that each and every sapling that has been planted as part of Haritaharam is nursed carefully. Reviewing the Haritaharam with officials at Mandal Parishad Development Office, he said that a record of sorts has been created here by planting the record-level 1.39-lakh saplings and asked officials to pay special attention to their conservation.
Therefore, he asked the officials to conduct a week-long special drive to thoroughly inspect the saplings planted at the grassroots level. Promising adequate funds, he wants effective supervision on each and every plant to trace its growth. Mandal level special officers, MPDOs should work with coordination to ensure people’s participation in Haritaharam.
The collector said that Rs 30 crore has been allocated to benefit 6400 fishermen of the district. Of the 527 applications from BCs for loans, 126 have received the loan on Independence Day. NREGS TA, field assistants and others congratulated the district collector for receiving excellence award at the state level.
