Siddipet:  Major Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday said that the sinister designs of Congress leaders to derive political mileage by provoking the Nizamabad farmers foiled by the Rain God. On account of the incessant rains, the SRSP project is receiving a flood flow of 2.5 lakh cusecs.

He was taking part in a programme to sensitise farmers on purchasing cows as part of the State government’s initiative. The farmers are jubilant as Harish Rao issued orders to release water canals –Kaktiya, Lakshmi and Saraswati – and to Gutpa and Alisagar projects, but the Congress leaders are ‘weeping’. The Congress failed a case in green tribunal against Kaleswaram project, but the tribunal struck down the case.

He announced to distribute milch cattle among 20,000 farmers of the district at a whopping cost of Rs 130 crore. He praised the CM for unleashing blue, pink and white revolution in the state. Referring to the new pest that is incident upon maize canals, he said that the pest can travel hundreds of kM at a got and destroy crops.

Therefore, he asked farmers to implement suggestions issued by the agriculture officers. Government chief whip Venkateswarlu, Dubbaka MLA Ramalinga Reddy, Husnabad MLA Voditela Satish Kumar, district collector P Venkatram Reddy and others took part in the programme.
