Thuraka Kasha demands separate federation
Urges the govt to uplift the community whose members are engaged in odd jobs like stone crushing for several centuries and have been living a nomadic life
Hyderabad: The Telangana Thuraka Kasha Welfare Association has demanded the State government to consider forming a separate federation.
Speaking on the occasion of State Conference of the Association held at Sundaraiah Vignan Kendram, Md Abbas, the honorary president and the Chief Guest of the programme has asked the government to uplift the community, which has been engaged in odd jobs like stone crushing for several centuries and spending a life of a nomad.
He demanded the government to include them in the list of Most Backward Classes (MBC). He said that since the population of 3 lakh has remained backward in education, employment, the government should come forward and support them.
The president of the State Committee of Association, SK Imam Pasha said that separate federation would be beneficial for the Thuraka Kasha community for better utilisation of the government schemes.
He demanded that each family should be provided with a loan of Rs 5 lakh. On the conclusion of the programme a new committee comprising 24 members was constituted.
SK Hussain, Hyder, Kamal, Sharif, Fareed were declared vice president and Nanhe Sahed, Sk Eqbal, Hyder, Sd Ali, Ismail and others were declared as working presidents.
