Mission Bhagiratha water to reach Tandur by September

Tandur: At last, water will arrive, here through pipes laid under the prestigious scheme Mission Bhagiratha soon. Officials are busy with the necessary arrangements. In July, water reached to the treatment plant at Jafferpalli in Parigi mandal. From there, water will be supplied to the neigbouring villages through pipelines. 

Officials already inspected the process. The State government is spending Rs 1,080 crore for supplying of 135 MLD water across the district. Rs 345 crore is being spent for the supply of 168 villages in Tandur constituency and the municipality. Laying of pipelines and other works have been completed in almost all villages.

Officials are making arrangements to supply water to the municipality by next month. They found that mud was accumulated in the pipelines. When they checked the flow, the water gushed out after mixing the mud.

Though it was decided to supply water to the villages fist, they decided to supply water to Tandur due to severe scarcity of water the municipality area. All the civil works required for the supply of water is completed around the municipality. The connecting of pipes to the old tanks is also going on brisk pace.
