Musheerabad: The Telangana State RTC Employees’ Union CCS delegates on Tuesday went on a mass hunger-strike in front of the RTC cooperative credit society demanding immediate payment of recovered amounts to the society. Thirty delegates went on fast.

Union president S Babu and general secretary K Raju Reddy alleged that the recovered amounts from the employees’ salaries were not paid by society in the last two years. The amount totaled Rs 279 crore in the last seven months.

The leaders pointed out that the employees were facing hardships in paying children’s school fees during June-July.

The 73,904 share-holders were being subjected to financial stress because of non-clearance of applications seeking marriage loans.

Yet the management was not showing any mercy towards the employees. They stated that the share-holders were likely to lose interest of Rs 20 crore.

The leaders threatened to intensify the agitation if the demand was not conceded by the management.
