All set for Vaikunta Ekadashi fete at TTD
On the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadashi (December 18), the management of TTD-run Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple at Himayat Nagar is making all arrangements and organising various activities and rituals for the deity. It is also ensuring necessary arrangements to provide hassle-free darshan to thousands of devotees who will throng the temple on the auspicious day.
Speaking to The Hans India, G Jaganmohanacharyulu, Assistant Executive Officer, TTD, said, “Dedicated to the Lord Vishnu, Vaikuntha Ekadashi is one of the auspicious days for Hindus. On the holy day, people conduct and take part in special prayers, yagnas, discourses and also attend discourses at Vishnu temples across the world.”
When asked about the schedule of events on the Vaikunta Ekadashi Day at the temple, he said, “More than 50,000 devotees are expected to arrive to have darshanam from all over the city. In normal days, we perform ‘Suprabhatham’ in the morning, but in these auspicious months of Dhanurmasam we perform ‘Thiruppavai’ for the god. Due to the heavy rush, there is no permission for any kind of special pujas for devotees and VIPs.” There will be three lines and two gates (one for common people and other for VIPs) have set up for the Darshanam, he said. The officials have allocated separate time between 10 am and 12 noon for senior citizens, infant mothers and pregnant women for a hassle-free darshanam.
