Art from the heart

The annual arts festival held in the memory of the Dr Kallam Anji reddy, the visionary entrepreneur, a pathbreaker in Indian pharmaceuticals industry, promoter of arts, philanthropist and Chairman of Dr Reddy’s Labs – KARA, is a treat to the eyes. An art camp that is organised by the founder trustee of Dr Reddy Foundation Anuradha (in its fourth year now), as a part of the festival is a lively space, where art interacts with the artists and the audience. It is open for visitors (the venue is ‘Out of the Box’ area at Greenpark Hotel). And, watching celebrated artists creating their masterpieces gives vibrancy to the place and fills the hearts of art lovers with positivity. 

The artists who were a part of the camp included Alok Uniyal, Bairu Raghuram, Trupti Joshi, Niranjan Jonnalagadda, Basuki Dasgupta,G Ramakrishna, MV Ramana Reddy, Siddharth Shingade, Chandra Bhattacharjee, Das HR, Deepa Vedpathak, Ramesh V, Sanjay Ashtaputre, Gowri Vemula, Vinita Dasgupta, Shampa Sircar Das, Haren Thakur, KS Radhakrishnan, Srikanth Kurva, SG Vasudev, and Venkat Shyam. As is the tradition, the works from the camp were put up at for sale at Avasa Hotel during the weekend and the proceeds from selling the works will be donated to social cause. The two-day exhibition of the works was well attended, and on the first day eminent dancer, scholar Dr Anupama Kailash gave a performance featuring the three most essential features of Indian dance through Sanskrit and Telugu compositions – ‘Yatartham – Kathartham - Herein lie the truth’.
