Hyderabad: Hotel Mercure Hyderabad KCP organised ‘Solidarity Week’, an initiative to support economically backward sections of the society to help them grow. This year, as part of the ‘Solidarity Week’, the hotel staff visited Cherish Foundation, an NGO working towards the development and rehabilitation of orphan kids, and spent an evening with them. The hotel staff donated essential items and entertained the kids by playing games with them like musical chairs, board games, etc to make them feel special. ‘Solidarity Week,’ initiated by AccorHotels, celebrates unity and generosity around the world. AccorHotels has involved over 20,000 of its employees in more than 500 hotels across 45 countries. It started the Solidarity Week initiative in 2008.

Each year, over the course of a week in December, it encourages employees to participate in charity initiatives, providing a practical response to the needs expressed by local organizations. At the heart of each project, the employees at AccorHotels contribute to the lives of the communities that welcome the hotels of the group. They do their part to take the heart-felt hospitality beyond borders. Soumitra Pahari, hotel manager at Mercure Hyderabad KCP, said, “This year, we have celebrated the ‘solidarity week’ with kids from Cherish Foundation, contributed to their betterment and helped them lead a qualitative life. The hotel team donated basic items and spent a great time with the kids. “We are always committed to do everything within our scope for the improvement of our society. We are extremely pleased with the response and we look forward to celebrating many such initiatives in the future,” he added.
