Wuhan [China]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he held "extensive and fruitful talks" with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the second and last day of the informal summit here on Saturday.

Taking to Weibo, a popular social media site in China and also the Chinese version of micro-blogging site Twitter, Prime Minister Modi said, "I am very pleased to meet with President Xi Jinping in Wuhan. We conducted extensive and fruitful talks and exchanged opinions on strengthening India-China relations and other international issues."

"Thank you, President Xi Jinping, for the wonderful gesture of personally accompanying me in the Hubei Provincial Museum. The Museum is home to great facets of Chinese history and culture," he added.

In 2015, in an effort to enhance communication among the Chinese audience, Prime Minister Modi opened an account on Weibo, becoming the first Indian premier to make a debut on the Chinese micro-blogging site.

The Prime Minister enjoys a massive following in China and has 1,83,134 followers.

Prime Minister Modi is on a two-day visit to China to participate in an unprecedented 'informal' summit with President Xi, which is expected to reset the bilateral ties between the two Asian giants, which took a hit post the two-month-long Doklam standoff last year.

He will return to India on Saturday.
