Imran should clean up Pakistan first
It is unfortunate that Imran Khan during his address at Kartarpur had cleverly avoided referring to terror cells operating in his country under the nose of administration which has one agenda to bleed India and see that peace do not return in the valley. When terror been the core issue in any Indo-Pak dialogue, how can he expect India to take one step forward to participate in talks with the rogue nation when the mindset of army has not changed a wee-bit. Even Army Chief Bajwa present on the occasion, conspicuous by his silence is a clear indication that there will be no let- up in terror.
Further Imran Khan contending that people of Pakistan wanted peace and that people-to-people contact in the past saw only deterioration in relationship between the countries. Even the experiment of cultural and sports exchanges is a thing of the past with no concrete results achieved except the people visiting the nations were taken care off well during their stay. Also after every meeting between the heads of government, India witnessed only terror acts intensified on the borders and inside the country with disastrous results. When these are naked facts, Imran Khan merely drumming Kashmir issue like his predecessors when India is battling terror unleashed by Pakistan at the borders, is it fair on the part of Imran to ask India to start a dialogue?
All in all, the opening of Kartarpur corridor is indeed a step towards peace initiative but Kartarpur been a one-off incident, India cannot be expected to rush to the table to resume peace talks with Pakistan when terror is looming large on its borders perpetrated by Pakistani trained terrorists day in and day out. On the contrary, India-Pakistan dialogue is possible only if Pakistan comes with clean hands by renouncing terror fully to the satisfaction of India. In short, Imran coining slogans like "Let us bury the past" "Terror is not in Pakistan's interest" and "Let's started fresh" are sweet to the ears but in reality it does not work. All the same, not undermining Imran Khan's intentions, it would be better if Imran takes the initiative to end terror emanating from its soil first before appealing to India to resume peace talks.
