CPI only alternative to BJP, TRS: Puvvada
Khammam: Senior leader and former MLA of Communist Party of India (CPI) Puvvada Nageswara Rao opined that CPI was the only party alternative to BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and KCR-led TRS in the State here on Wednesday. Speaking at the district general body meeting, held under the leadership of Dandu Adinarayana, in Khammam on Wednesday, Puvvada said CPI was striving to bring all Left parties and various people’s organisations under one roof to fight the NDA and TRS governments.
Stating that Narendra Modi government was extending its support to America by surrendering to it, the CPI leader said many employees including students would be facing lot of hardships in coming up days due to the policies adopted by Trump against the Indians. “Modi government is losing faith among public and Gujarat elections are proof of it. Further, its anti-people policies are pushing people into problems. It is also encouraging communalism in the nation. The murder of Gauri Lankesh is example of that,” he criticised.
Coming down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the CPI leader said KCR, who came to power by promising jobs and sops to people, has failed to deliver on his promises. “He is trying to create disputes among different communities and tribal people,” he alleged, adding that there was a need to protect democracy in the state and in the nation.
For that, all CPI party leaders must strive to strengthen the party from the village level besides brining peoples organisations under one planform. CPU State leaders T V Chowdari, District Secretary Bagam Hemanth Rao, Potu Prasad, Yerra Babu, S K Jani Miya, C H Sitamalakshmi and Avuri Latha Devi were present along with others.
