First phase of land records updated

Kothagudem: The Revenue Department has completed the first phase of land records cleansing and updating within 80 days, prior to government prescribed deadline of 90 days.  The survey was completed in respect of 5, 29,192 acres in 376 villages. The officials are busy in making the records free from any error. In the first phase, 47 teams were deployed to cleanse the records and update them in 376 villages. By December 31, the cleansing has been through in all the villages.

Of the 5,29,192 acres, there were no disputes with regard to 1,73,165 survey numbers. In fact, 92,452.06 acres, listed under 47,611 survey numbers, have been locked in controversy. The officials have identified 3,64,896.28 acres as agriculture land and 13,772 acres as non-farming land.  The officials noted that 58,071.02 acres is used for roads, government offices, and irrigation canals and so on.

As part of the survey, 19,771 have been granted succession pattas. In all, 15,000 have been given as Sada Bynama pattas. In respect of 5,000 cases, mistakes in names in the land records have been corrected.

As most part of the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district falls under the Agency area, a majority of the LTR cases have been dealt with. The officials found title deeds are not correct in respect of Sada Bynama documents. They also solved problems related to assigning the government lands.

The government prescribed 90 days deadline to complete the first phase. But, under the leadership of District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanmanthu and Joint Collector M Ram Kishan the district administration accomplished the task 10 days ahead.

On account of the officials working with complete coordination as per the government orders, the task of land cleansing and updation of the revenue records has been accomplished in 376 village prior to the deadline. Measures are under way to issue land pattas online if there are no discrepancies in the land records, he said. Cleansing of the land records will give no room for unnecessary litigation.
